March 2-5

That’s a wrap!

Our first ever RootsTech conference is officially in the book.

RootsTech 2023 was a remarkable event that brought together genealogists, historians, and technology enthusiasts from all over the world. Over the course of three days we met so many passionate family historians from all kinds of different walks of life.

Family Search did an excellent job hosting the event. Attendees had the opportunity to attend workshops and panel discussions, where they learned about the latest trends and technologies in the genealogy industry. Over the course of three days there were well over 150 classes available both in person at the Salt Palace Convention Center and online

Throughout the conference, we had the pleasure of meeting numerous people who were interested in our services.

We spoke with historians who wanted to preserve their research, families who wanted to document their history, and genealogists who wanted to share their findings with future generations.

Our team was thrilled to have the opportunity to explain how our video production services could help them accomplish their goals.

Lasting Legacies at Rootstech 2023
It was amazing meeting so many passionate Family Historians!

Watch this video for a quick look at what RootsTech looked like from our perspective!

Although we spent most of the three days in Salt Lake City manning our exhibitor booth, we were able to sneak away for some amazing speakers.

The keynote sessions were particularly impressive, and we were grateful for the chance to hear from some of the most influential genealogists and historians in the field.

Listening to Sean Astin talk about his film career was quite inspiring, but before hitting the stage he sent his daughter a text message asking her why she loves genealogy – Sean was nice enough to read her response out loud to us “It’s a way to learn about the ancestors that live on through me. We are the key to our ancestors’ eternal life, and through my children, in a way, I will live forever. So it is important to honor that.”

Photographer Me Ra Koh delivered a terrific keynote on resilience and how there’s a Rising Phoenix story in all of us.

Overall, RootsTech 2023 was an exceptional event for Lasting Legacies. We made valuable connections, learned a great deal, and had a fantastic time.

We look forward to attending RootsTech 2024 and are excited to continue helping people preserve and share their family history through our video production services!

As a LOTR fan, listening to Sean Astin's keynote was a treat!
